All brides want the best wedding photos. Sometimes as much as you can plan your wedding – things go wrong.

Here are a couple of back up plans and tips to try an eliminate wedding photo stress on your big day.

Book a pro photographer

There are lots of photographers out there.

I have been in this business for over 20 years and it’s amazing how camera technology has changed.

This means that some less experienced people are picking up a camera and shooting weddings.

Still at the end of the day you must be sure that your photographer can work well under pressure.

Shoot so that your images are not photoshoped to death and has a style that you like.

You will spend a lot of time with your photographer during your day so you’ll want to like them.

Ask questions

Don’t be afraid to ask your wedding photographer questions!

The more they understand you the type of images on your wedding day the better the photos will be.

They are your lasting memory of your day and you don’t get second chances for a retake.

Give them images that you really like (or go on Pinterest and create a board), so they know what your likes are.

Prepare for it to get messy

While you may have paid a fortune for your wedding dress, shoes, suits, bouquets, ceremony & reception, you are only going to wear them once.

Be prepared to sit down, take you shoes off and walk on the sand, get your wedding dress wet.

Some of the world’s best wedding photographs are taken in the sand of Coffs Harbour or in the rainforest near Bellingen.

Have a back up plan

Every bride that I know is afraid of a rainy day! However, us photographers LOVE them, the light is soft and natural, like a big soft box over the sun. So don’t be afraid! However, always keep in mind another alternative if in the rare event that it is teeming down. For example: the train stations at Nambucca Heads, Coffs Harbour have cover, Bonville Golf Resort is another undercover great location.
